Well chumers,

I was thinking about running a bit of shadowrun.

The Time: 2070 - approaching the 60th Anniversary of the return of magic to the world, 4 years since the great crash 2.0 that left thousands dead or comatose leaving the global infrastructure gutted and paving the way for the wireless matrix we all know and love. about 3 months since you last had a decent paying job... that needs to change.

The place: Denver, the Treaty City where representatives  of every interested North American nation, corporation and criminal group meet to thrash out their differences and the only place in North America where no army is permitted.

The problem: Everybody wants something, most of it illegal or skirting around the edges. Lots of people have money, few of them are trustworthy.

The Solution: Shadowrunner, specialists for hire who take the cash and do the job, whatever it might be. They can be anybody, any species, any profession as long as they can get the job done. It's a brutal and often short life but your hearts desires can be yours if you survive long enough.

  • Pre-gen characters avaliable
  • Run using official scenarios
  • Nice faced paced cyberpunk system with plenty of surprises

Game:Shadowrun
GM:Andy Hawkins
Slots:4-6
1.Mark Holland - (Close combatant)
2.Beth Holland (Dwarf Rigger)
3.John Messum - (Utility hermetic mage?)
4.Tim Allan - (Covert Ops?)
5.James Chambers - (Rigger)
6. Michael Simmons* - (Social Adept)
7. Matt N* (Orc Gun Bunny?)
8. Nick Reynolds* (Cat Shaman)
9. Pyro - (Human Covert Ops)
10. Richard* - (Troll Hacker) / Me* (Human Mage) - Alternating

Those with an asterisk already have already created characters to the best of my knowledge. I will make pregens for everybody else.

Okay due to overwhelming layer demand and a cock-up with sign-up sheets (mostly my fault) I am afraid that I must make a few amendments to this game.

Firstly, I am dropping the Missions element. Instead I will run non-missions scenarios set in Seattle.

Richard has agreed to run a Missions game in a 1 week slot when one becomes avaliable and I will run a small 3 week slot shortly afterwards, however at the moment it's too popular and hopefully some people might be willing to wait.

From what I understand there is a concerted effort to get another table running so that people will still have something fun to play.

Secondly, there are few fair ways to determine who will play in this scenario. I will have to take it on the order that people signed up (to the best of my memory)

Mark
Beth
Mike
Pyro
John Messum
Tim Allan

As I said, this is to the best of my limited recollection so I may be mistaken. If anybody is still eager to play perhapse they can discuss with the people listed above and see about swapping.

For everybody else I am extremly sorry for the mix-up. I'll be more organised in future.

Andy

Which Edition? When you say official Scenarios are you talking about the Living Shadow Run Missions as there are a number of people at the Club with existing Characters.

Well Shadowrun Missions are set in Denver, so sounds like Matt. Only other Denver adventures are in the 1st/2nd boxed set and on of the little adventures.

Yes, it's Shadowrun Missions, the official living system set in Denver for 4th Edition. I understand there's a fair sized group of existing Missions players.

One thing I would like to know from prospective players is which missions you have or have not run before and a rough idea of table rating.

As you're talking about Shadowrun Missions, will you be trying to squeeze them into one night down the club or spreading them over two?

Given that this is a 6-week cycle, it may be easier for all concerned if he spreads each Mission over two weeks.

By rights you can't - it is really agaist the spirit of the thing and allows the Players a big potential XP advantage.

Equally, squeezing them into the three hours you realistically get down the club is a bit arse.

I suspect in reality you'd get one full and one short session and the game would run to between 4 and 5 hours in total. Which isn't that far off a con game.

If you've got the commitment and player buy-in, you can do 7-11 at the club.

With the death of Rippers  Sad It looks like you might have a few more players. The big 2 questions are.

1. Will you be running these as "official" Shadowrun Missions?
(At least for those of us who would like to fill out the sheets)
2. Could you throw a couple of missions your thinking of running at us and we'll see if we've done them.

I will bring Maze along tomorrow so we can have a quick chat and you can see the sort of thing your getting into. As well as compare mission logs. I've pretty much done what the guys have plus a few more.

Having done Arcanis it is possible to do a 7 - 11 slot and get a very good game out of it. After all paper work can always be done at a slightly different time. And to be honest I really like the 7 / half 7 start time.

Talking amongst ourselves we've now sorted out what missions we've done. Looks like SRM02-06 and SRM02-08 from the early ones are possible.

Have a word with Richard about it Andy.
