D&D 4th Ed- Keep on the Shadowfell
«
on:
28 Mar 2008, 11:59 »
A exploration/try out of 4th Ed D&D and their new H1 module.
An introductory 4th Edition D&D adventure for characters of levels 1-3
The town of Winterhaven stands watch over a ruined keep that was once a bastion of good in the realm. This keep overlooks the Shadow Rift, a dark scar in the world that was once a gateway to the Shadowfell but has been dormant for many years. Now, an evil cleric of Orcus, Demon Lord of the Undead, seeks to re-open the gate, and the only thing standing in his way is a small yet determined band of heroes.
Keep on the Shadowfell is an exciting Dungeons & Dragons adventure designed for characters of levels 1–3. It includes three double-sided poster maps suitable for use with D&D Miniatures.
Players-5
1. Gareth (Warlock)
2. Richard (Wizard)
3. Matt N(Cleric)
4. Tim (Fighter)
5. Mark H. (Rogue)

Can't slag it off if I haven't played it - I'll take a Cleric of something or other.

Okay so that's one "controller" and one "leader" ... I'll take one of the "striker" classes, warlock maybe. Yeah, an Eladrin Warlock, that's sounds like an idea.
We need one more to fill the "defender" role, me thinks ...

Translation- we need a Fighter!
Its D&D, having a good mix of classes has always been part of the game.

I’m quite amused how they have sublimely (or not) snuck in mmorpg terms into 4th ed. IE striker = DPS, Defender = Tank. Although, since when is the cleric the leader? I always thought the first sword-toting muppet to charge Dragon’s lair constituted as being the “Leader”, The cleric was the one to mop up the resulting mess.
Although, I do like the ability score creation system. Always prefer “creating” characters as opposed to “rolling” one up.
Okay, I’m curious. Sign me up for a Fighter. I can “defend” your asses.

For the record I usually play Warrior-Priests, and never take Cure Light Wounds as Healing is for wimps!

Steve,
I'm looking at playing a Fey-Pact Warlock although I haven't decided between Human or Eladrin.

Are you genning the character or do want us to do so??
If we are genning the characters, what level do you want us to generate?
If we are genning the characters, what stat generation method do you want us to use?

Reading through the PHB last night, there's a specific battle-priest build available. However one of the cleric's At-Will powers is a healing ability regardless of build.
