Title:Lurkers of the U-bahn
System:Cold City
GM:Nick Reynolds
Min Players:3Nationality
1.Matt NixonRussian
2.Richard EvansBritish
3.French
4.American

Only the brave venture into the flooded sections of post-war Berlins ruined underground system and they don't know what could really be down there. The RPA knows but nonetheless can see no alternative other than to send you in following a series of gruesome deaths. Not claustrophobic are you?

Note this will be my first run through Cold City so it will be a simple premise with a handful of scenes. Character generation in the first session as the interplay of characters is quite important. Anybody sniffy about historical accuracy regarding the setting will be disappointed as I won't have done mounds of research into exactly what the U-bahn was like at the time.

I have (maps and everything!) - so I can dig something out for you on Tuesday, if you want?

Note to self ... will need to think about finishing off the plots I have jotted a few notes for, so I can get round to running CC at some point.....

It'd be worth a look. I am not going for historical accuracy though, it's just an excuse to do something in dark flooded tunnels.

I deliberately avoided the slots I thought you couldn't do, nobody has signed up so I can move it if you want but it'll have to be the autumn as both you or I are in games before then.

Sometime later in the year would be much appreciated.

Done.

With the recent 'what is an Indie game' discussion at the club it's worth noting that this most definitely is.

A founding block of the game is 'trust'. When generating characters you have to say how much you trust the others and it has a real bearing on play. Pulling that Russian RPA agent that is clinging to a ledge back from the brink of death is about how strong your relationship is as much as how strong you are.

You may as well start to think about what nationalities you want. The following are available...

  • British
  • French
  • American
  • Russian

...and there can be only one person from each nation.

I'll post a brief summary of character generation at some point as it's about motivations and strengths done in a narrative fashion rather than number crunching. That way people can think up their character concept before we sit down to do it.

Hard choice, but I'll have the Commie.
